Matchup:  Oakland Raiders vs. Minnesota Vikings (w)

Setting:

• Flew and stayed in San Fran

• Beautiful weather
• Took public train/subway to get to Oakland and the O.co Stadium
• Subway let us out on opposite side of the stadium so had to walk around entire stadium and go through long line to get through the front gates.
• Seats were at 100 level, row 13 approximately 45 yard line so extremely close to the players/bench
• Large men on either side of us so a bit squeezed
• One person held up a baby like the lion king
• Stadium not very new or nice, but basic
  

Highlights:

• Costumes and outfits
• Derek Car

Trip Memories: 

• Walked the park and were on the north side instead of south side so had to run across to get to Jenni's on time
• Went to Jenni B's house to meet her kids, Danielle N came over with her kids as well
• Tiny hotel room, similar to European hotels
• Took over 1 hour to get out of the stadium and to the train/subway.  Insane crowd across the bridge.
• Better experience with uber drivers than cab drivers.

Where Have You Been Sahkira?

It's been quite a while since my last blog post. Almost exactly a year. Today I feel oddly inspired. Here's the quick recap of what has happened in the last year:

1) Got married at a football stadium w/ a football themed wedding (any surprise there?)

2) Signed/Autographed Wes Welker ball was my gift to my husband

3) Accidentally was on TV giving Steve a high-five at the Patriots-Bills game after the Randy Moss TD. (back when he was on the team).

4) Saw San Diego Chargers shut-out the chiefs (thx to my cousin barbara)

5) Was a silent part of a crowd of angry 49er fans who harassed the players from their seats a few feet behind the home-team bench. Yowers.

6) Saw Giants get mortified by Vick and DeJean Jackson. Don't talk to me about it.

7) Saw Cutler get sacked over 10 times by the Gmen.

Football on the West Coast

My company sent me to Las Vegas for a trade show event and the hardest jetlag I experienced was related to football.

I am a sleeping master (enough to rival Rip Van Wrinkle) so I had no problem adjusting to the time changes. I eat at bizarre enough times already (if at all) in the day so there was little problemo there...

My biggest challenge was the fact that the "1pm game" (EST) was really at "10am". I honestly don't know how these West-Coast-peeps do it! I'm usually not even awake at 10am on a weekend. HAH.
