Philadelphia Eagles (16/32)

December 1st, 2013

Match up:  Philadelphia Eagles (w) vs. Arizona Cardinals

Setting:

  • It was cold to say the least!
  • High-up seats around the 40 yard line.

Game Highlights:

  • Nick Foles TD
  • Carson Palmer almost brought the Cardinals back at the end

Trip Memories:

  • Fairly easy drive
  • Had brunch with Steve's former coworker from O'Melveny and Myers (Sara M.)

Denver Broncos (15/32)

September 29th, 2013

Matchup:  Denver Broncos (w) vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Setting:

  • Section 500 (VERY high up) but at least it was at the 45 yard line.
  • It was pretty hot out (75-80degrees)

Game Highlights:

  • Trindon Holiday - kick return for a TD
  • Thunder the horse gallops across the field for every touch down.
  • Their statue bronco's spit fire after every Denver touch down. There were enough TD's during the game I was able to get lots of photos.
  • Second time for me, but first time for Steve, to see Peyton Manning in action.
  • Happened to be Michael Vick at QB for the Eagles
Trip Memories:

  • Met up with my co-worker, Charlie K after the game and had Denver-famous green chili
  • Parking at the Pepsi Stadium Center was listed online as a 10 minute walk... however it's really a 30-40 minute journey to the stadium entrance!
  • Day before we took a trip to Colorado Springs where we a van took us to the top (14,000 feet!) of Pike's Peak and we took bikes down the mountain!
  • We recommend Falling Rock Bar/Restaurant for their fried mushrooms!

Where Have You Been Sahkira?

It's been quite a while since my last blog post. Almost exactly a year. Today I feel oddly inspired. Here's the quick recap of what has happened in the last year:

1) Got married at a football stadium w/ a football themed wedding (any surprise there?)

2) Signed/Autographed Wes Welker ball was my gift to my husband

3) Accidentally was on TV giving Steve a high-five at the Patriots-Bills game after the Randy Moss TD. (back when he was on the team).

4) Saw San Diego Chargers shut-out the chiefs (thx to my cousin barbara)

5) Was a silent part of a crowd of angry 49er fans who harassed the players from their seats a few feet behind the home-team bench. Yowers.

6) Saw Giants get mortified by Vick and DeJean Jackson. Don't talk to me about it.

7) Saw Cutler get sacked over 10 times by the Gmen.

That about sums it up. More deets and photo recaps to come! :)

Rematch-Rematch-Rematch

In playoff week 1, it was kinda crazy that Dallas had to play the Eagles in back-to-backs... AND... the Jets had to play Cinncy in back-to-back weeks... AND... Arizona and Greenbay... It was a little odd to say the least.

In two of three situations, the original winner won again... but the exception here was Arizona and let's be honest, Arizona typically is Jekyl and Hyde.

Soon, we shall see another rematch (although this time a few weeks spread apart)... Indy vs. NYJ's in a big championship! Last time the Jets won (since Indy benched Manning most of the time).

Finally!!!! A game where both teams will actually try to win.

A Tie??

Ties in football are pretty rare. And I'm not referring to the strips of fabric that wrap around a man's neck. How rare are they? The last time there was a tie was in 2002!!!! And today, the Eagles and Cinncy Bengals managed that feat.

Both teams worked hard to lose the game, yet neither team was able to come out with a win. The Bengals missed a 47 (very doable) field goal that Graham had to make in the last 7 seconds. Turnovers galore, the game sounded like a total sh*tshow.

And even more disturbing is how so many players and coaches (i won't name names) "didn't know" that you could end in a tie or how a tie affected the divisional standings... yikes!

SO SORRY

For 10 days, instead of blogging about the NFL, I had to blog about Fashion Week for work. Therefore I have missed a whole SCHLEW of topics I wanted to talk about. Here's the quick and dirty:

1. Philly eagles: Oh, Eagles, I wish you had beat the Cowboys. But how can you when the refs no longer call facemask penalties?

2. Tom Brady: Do I need to comment? It seems like everyone else in the world already has so I'll refrain.

3. Jets: I think the past few games have proven the Jets are better with Farve, but they still suck overall.

4. Giants: Well firstly, they should have never come that close to Cinncy... and the reason they did was because they did not use Plaxico... AT ALL. WTF??!?!

5. RedSkins game: Another reason I was unavailable to blog in the last two weeks is because I was actually traveling attending a game! The Redskins - Saints game. What a fantastic game. I'll do another post with pictures. It's worth expanding on.

6. QBs of the NFL: No one is safe.

7. My Fantasy Teams: OMG, this year i have three teams... so hard to keep track of. But in one league i'm kicking ass, in another i'm sucking ass, and another is the middle of the road.

8. Suicide Pool: I'm already out. Damn you Seattle.
