Matchup: Atlanta Falcons vs. New Orleans Saints (w)

Setting: 

• 25 yard line only 5 rows back at field level

Game Highlights: 

• Controversial call for ATL... Mike Smith severely criticized for going for it on 4th and 3 which ultimately led to the Falcons losing the game. 
• At one point during the game, we were part of the card trick, holding a color above our head to make a picture as a stadium together.
• Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, Tony Gonzales! All very exciting to watch
• Drew Brees, Jimmy Graham
• Veterans Day weekend
• Lots of Samuel L Jackson on the jumbotron.
• "Rise Up" 

Trip memories: 

• Coke factory
• Great southern food up the block at a local place with rocking chairs
• Stayed at CNN center
• Part of my work trip
• Cab driver gave me hug for tipping him
• Hung out in Olympic park

This year Steve and I had Club seats for half of the NY Giants Football home games at MetLife Stadium. We strategically picked games that matched our schedule, were relevant to the Patriots (Steve's team) or were a great match up:

Giants - Miami
Giants - Buffalo
Giants - Philadelphia
Giants - Dallas (Week 17)

Carolina Panthers (9/32)

September 2011

Matchup: Carolina Panthers (w) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Setting: 

• Pouring rain including field flooding
• Nose-bleed seats by around the 50-yard line
• 1-year anniversary trip

Game Highlights: 

• Cam Newton's rookie year
• Blaine Gabbert's rookie year
• Lots of fumbles / loose balls due to the weather

Trip Memories: 

• Charlotte is a very clean, but extremely small city
• Took an adventure trip outside of Charlotte for classic southern food.
• Amazingly I forgot the tickets at home and had to call Stubhub to get a refund and buy new tickets. Great experience with Stubhub.

Ah yes, intensified negotiating discussions will take place on Saturday in Texas. Here's to hoping for cooler heads to prevail.

Lesser of Two Evils

I am not a Greenbay Packer Fan. In fact, I always disliked the team (mostly due to their Brett-Favre factor). But in less than 5 days, I will unfortunately have to hope for their success in the Superbowl.

And if you need a reason to support the Packers, there is one compelling one: the Steelers' quarterback is a womanizer/rapist. If Big Ben had only been accused once - maybe I'd let it go. But a pattern of accusations... too much of a coincidence.

Since Brett is no longer with Greenbay, I guess I should reconsider my feelings towards their team. The Packers are the only team publicly traded and that's pretty damn cool. I'd buy a share of the team, even if I'm not a fan just to say I owe a football team. (bday gift anyone?)

Where Have You Been Sahkira?

It's been quite a while since my last blog post. Almost exactly a year. Today I feel oddly inspired. Here's the quick recap of what has happened in the last year:

1) Got married at a football stadium w/ a football themed wedding (any surprise there?)

2) Signed/Autographed Wes Welker ball was my gift to my husband

3) Accidentally was on TV giving Steve a high-five at the Patriots-Bills game after the Randy Moss TD. (back when he was on the team).

4) Saw San Diego Chargers shut-out the chiefs (thx to my cousin barbara)

5) Was a silent part of a crowd of angry 49er fans who harassed the players from their seats a few feet behind the home-team bench. Yowers.

6) Saw Giants get mortified by Vick and DeJean Jackson. Don't talk to me about it.

7) Saw Cutler get sacked over 10 times by the Gmen.
