Plaxico Benched?!?!?
Dear Tom,
I know Plaxico did a very very bad thing missing practice on Monday. I know you want to make an example and set the record straight. But for the love of G*d, please play Plaxico.... I have him on two of my fantasy team's and he's crucial to their success...
Thank you for your consideration.
Sarah
Dear Plaxico,
Don't do this again.
Your fan,
Sarah

SO SORRY
For 10 days, instead of blogging about the NFL, I had to blog about Fashion Week for work. Therefore I have missed a whole SCHLEW of topics I wanted to talk about. Here's the quick and dirty:
1. Philly eagles: Oh, Eagles, I wish you had beat the Cowboys. But how can you when the refs no longer call facemask penalties?
2. Tom Brady: Do I need to comment? It seems like everyone else in the world already has so I'll refrain.
3. Jets: I think the past few games have proven the Jets are better with Farve, but they still suck overall.
4. Giants: Well firstly, they should have never come that close to Cinncy... and the reason they did was because they did not use Plaxico... AT ALL. WTF??!?!
5. RedSkins game: Another reason I was unavailable to blog in the last two weeks is because I was actually traveling attending a game! The Redskins - Saints game. What a fantastic game. I'll do another post with pictures. It's worth expanding on.
6. QBs of the NFL: No one is safe.
7. My Fantasy Teams: OMG, this year i have three teams... so hard to keep track of. But in one league i'm kicking ass, in another i'm sucking ass, and another is the middle of the road.
8. Suicide Pool: I'm already out. Damn you Seattle.

Instant Replay for Baseball
Baseball finally progressed into the 21st century and implemented Instant Replay. For more on baseball... it's not on my blog. Try another site.

Strong Giants, Weak 'Skins
It is here. The football season has officially begun. The long wait ended tonight with a victory for New York. Eli, Jacobs, and my man Plaxico defended their championship title with an impressive performance. Although not a lot of TD's (which is something they'll have to fix to beat some of the more challenging teams), they scored enough to beat the 'skins.
The Washington Defense got run over by the train aka Brandon Jacobs and over-reached by Plaxico's height. The offense has decent individual players, but none of it came together, and the last 6 minutes were poorly managed. We'll see if this new coach can get the team together. The announcers seemed to think that Zorn doesn't have the experience to be a headcoach...
Time will tell.

Spanish Translations in the NFL
For all of you who may not know how to read "85" in English/numerics, Chad has changed his last name to Ocho Cinco for Spanish-speaking fans. And it's printed on his back so you can't miss it.

Before We Start...
So there are a few new rules to note before the exciting new season starts. Here's a quick recap of some of the key changes!
Radios for Defensive Captain
After the debacle with NE last year and the whole 'taping' stuff, the league will help prevent Bill B from decoding the defensive team's communication and codes by allowing a defensive player to have a radio in his helmet. Why it took them this long to implement this technology for defense when they already have this in place for communication with the QB is BEYOND ME... like duh.
Force-Outs? no more
Sadly is the elimination of the force-out ruling... buuttt I guess if the Refs' aren't going to enforce it, you might as well eliminate it. Case in point is the Cleveland -Arizona game late last season where Cleveland clearly should have had a TD since the receiver was CLEARLY pushed out... and that loss for Cleveland was a huge loss for my family... if you don't know the story - ask me why. Let's just say, my Dad who predicted Cleveland to win is still regretting that advice.
Instant Replay for... Kicks
All it takes is one instance for a new rule to be made. Instant Replay is now applicable to field goals and extra point attempts. Fine by me.
All Facemasks = 15 yards
There is no more room for an accidental (incidental) facemask... you touch someon's facemask and that's 15 yards. Let go or not. Although a little extreme, maybe it will teach players to avoid facemasks altogether and thereby reduce the number of twisting-the-head-facemasks which reduces the chances for injury. Sounds good.
Now... let's play ball!
