Championship Day

It's time for all the trash talking to end, the press conferences to halt and for everyone to sit back and watch two great games.

Talent vs. Talent
I recently heard an interview with LTD and he said he wants everyone to see how San Diego has heart. When i think of a team with "big heart", San Diego is about as low on the list as they come. LTD's subtle indications throughout the year that he doesn't get along with Phillip Rivers doesn't really help the idea that the Chargers are one big loving family with heart.

And though most people probably see New England as a machine-like, super structured and talented team there is little room to add "big heart" to that concept as well

I think it will come down to the team with the most talent and with so many injuries on SD... well it will take big heart for SD to win.

Heart vs. Heart
If you want to talk about two teams with heart, this season the Packers and Brett Favre are a hard team to deny they have heart. Most people are shocked Brett isn't hobbling out on a cane, he's so old - and to watch him soar this season takes great personal strength.

And while during the regular season the Giants seemed to lack consistency - their post-season performance as well as their game 17 performance against the Pats have made the Giants an American team. This constant underdog has pulled out wins and almost-wins against the best teams in the NFL (Cowboys, Patriots).

But the beautiful thing about football? You just never know.

Hey Sah I think you need to explain more clearly exactly what you mean by "heart" because the Patriots clearly are a team with heart, in the sense in which that term is used in the context of sports. That term can mean many things in many different circumstances, but in sports as you know it means giving it your all, playing hurt, and fighting through when things just aren't going your way. There is no doubt the Patriots have a lot of heart, as evidenced by their come from behind wins in the second half this year against the Colts, Ravens, and Giants. I think what you meant is that they aren't a very romantic team; rather, they're more like the Terminator: an efficient killing machine.
